Founder, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine

Dr. Robert Tomlinson is an expert in the evaluation and treatment of knee and shoulder disorders. He was chosen as one of only 10 surgeons worldwide to perform a revolutionary chondral transplant procedure proprietized by Zimmer Corporation, Warsaw IN.

He is a native of Los Angeles California, graduating with honors in Biochemistry at Occidental College in Los Angeles before studying exercise physiology at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He received his Doctorate degree in Medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana in 1986 and then attended residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Tulane, becoming Chief Orthopedic/Trauma Surgeon at the famous Charity Hospital. As part of the Tulane orthopedic program, he mentored under the tutelage of Dr. Jack Hughston, the founder of sports medicine and the definitive expert on knee injures. He then completed a fellowship program in sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles working with world famous orthopedic surgeon and shoulder pioneer Dr. Frank Jobe. In Los Angeles, Dr. Tomlinson provided orthopedic care for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lakers, Kings, Rams, California Angels, and the University of Southern California Trojans. He then joinded the Southern California Orthopedic Institute as a private practitioner and lecturer on sports related injuries and their treatment.

In 1993 he relocated to northwest Arkansas, working with the Universtiy of Arkansas Womens Athletic Department treating regional, national, and Olympic gold medal winning athletes. He is the author of numerous national research publications and has given both national and international lectures on knee and shoulder injuries. He currently resides in Springdale Arkansas with his wife Anna. They have 5 children, Billy, Clint, Robby, Rachel, and Rebecca.
